Executive Biographies

Heiner Markhoff, President & CEO

Heiner Markhoff is president and chief executive officer of GE Water & Process Technologies. A 16-year GE veteran with extensive international business experience, Mr. Markhoff has been in this position since October 2008.

Mr. Markhoff began his career as an associate with Booz Allen & Hamilton and joined GE’s Corporate Business Development Team in 1994. He later served as a marketing manager for GE Silicones Europe, and was named commercial director for GE Bayer Silicones when it was formed in 1998.

After serving as general manager-automotive for GE Plastics Americas, he served as CEO of GE Bayer Silicones from 2002 to 2006. Mr. Markhoff was then named president of GE Plastics Europe, which included responsibility for all GE Plastics business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (approximately 3,000 employees).

Heiner graduated from the University of Cologne, Germany, with degrees in economics and business administration.

Yuvbir Singh, Engineered Systems Leader

Yuvbir Singh is the leader for the Engineered Systems business at GE Water and Process Technologies. In his current role, Yuvbir leads the global strategy and execution for equipment-based products and services.

Mr. Singh began his career at GE as an applications engineer and moved into sales and marketing roles, leading to his assignment as the Marketing Leader for GE Fanuc in the Asia Pacific region. He transitioned to a business development role in 2001 and, over the last several years, he worked on the acquisition and integration of several companies into GE’s water portfolio and has also led several divestitures, joint ventures and strategic alliances. Most recently, he served as the General Manager of the Products and Systems product line which comprises a portfolio which includes RO membranes, filters, ultrafiltration and membrane bio reactors, among other standard and platform equipment.

Yuvbir attended the University of Pune, India and graduated with a BS Degree in Electronics Engineering.

Kevin Cassidy, Chemical & Monitoring Solutions Leader

Kevin Cassidy is CMS Commercial Leader for GE Water and Process Technologies. In this role, Mr. Cassidy has global responsibility for product management, pricing and commercial excellence.

Prior to this role, he served as general manager for Asia Pacific and was responsible for the water and process technologies business in 13 countries.

He joined GE Capital in 1990 and has subsequently held a number of positions across the company including assignments with the corporate audit staff and GE Investments. Mr. Cassidy joined the corporate mergers and acquisitions team in 2000, working with GE’s plastics, healthcare and rail businesses on all of their business development activity.

Before joining GE Power and Water, he was the director of business development for GE Specialty Materials where he led GE’s acquisition and subsequent integration of Betz Dearborn in April 2002, leading GE’s entry into the water treatment industry.

Mr. Cassidy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Fairfield University.
