Increase the value of slurry oil
You can convert the bottoms slurry from your FCCU main fractionator into a valuable by-product - worth $1,000 to $4,000 per day of increased profit - by reducing its ash content.
Slurry containing more than 0.10 wt% ash (mainly catalyst fines) can be sold as marine fuel, furnace fuel, or coker feedstock. If the ash content is less than 0.05 wt%, the slurry oil can command a premium of $0.50 to $3.00/BBL. This low-ash slurry is typically used as feedstock for carbon black production.
GE Water and Process Technologies provides additives that greatly increase the
settling rate of ash over a wide range of operating conditions. These additives
are typically applied prior to tankage, leading to quick ash drop-out in product
storage tanks.
Technical and service professionals from GE can work with you to develop and
apply a cost-effective program for reduction of ash in slurry oil.
