Labeled as the 2009 Idea Summit, the first of a series of world-class executive seminars resulting from the research agreement between the Alberta Water Research Institute (AWRI) and GE Water, is slated for August 26-28 at the renowned Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada.
The upcoming three-day program is part of an initiative to develop a high-level professional education program designed to bring together business leaders and water management experts from around the world to explore leading-edge ideas on how to turn sustainability-based approaches of water and energy into competitive advantages and new business opportunities.
The seminar features a list of eminent speakers from the industry and the academia world, including GE’s Global Research Director Mark Little, AWRI Scientific Director Alexander Zehnder and University of Alberta, Associate Dean Research Wiktor Adamowicz.
The Idea Summit will focus on water and energy as key elements for strategy development in organizations and as cost drivers that can be turned into major business opportunities. Participants will also discuss how businesses can profit from the easily transportable message around these two drivers to further shape their organization’s positive image.
Graham Sim, GE Water’s Advanced Solutions Product Manager commented, “I highly encourage industry leaders to join us at the Banff Summit in August. This is a unique opportunity for key decision makers to learn about water and energy challenges, as well as strategies to support the sustainable and economical development of the Alberta oil sands.”
