For more than a decade, GE Water & Process Technologies has met customers' needs for high-purity water with a completely integrated Triple Membrane Treatment (TMT^TM) system that removes particulate, organics, and mineral. Our triple membrane system differs from conventional approaches in two critical respects:

	It is a single product that uses a combination of processes to remove suspended particles and minerals from feedwater
	It combines ultrafiltration (UF), reverse osmosis (RO) and electrodeionization (EDI) technologies.

Customers at nuclear and fossil-fueled power plants, natural gas plants and semiconductor facilities see value in this non-traditional approach to water treatment. They find that the TMT system:

	Delivers high-quality water even during transient conditions.
	Eliminates water-quality performance fluctuations common to batch processes.
	Removes small and large particles more effectively than chemical clarification and multimedia filtration.

In addition, the EDI process reduces the need for chemical regeneration required by cation and anion exchange demineralizers. This in turn eliminates the safety, environmental and permitting issues of bulk hazardous-chemical storage.
