Caustic Concentration

NaOH evaporation unit- 2 x 750 MTPD

Sodium chloride is used to produce chlorine and caustic soda by means of membrane electrolysis. The caustic soda produced from this process must be concentrated from 32% to 50% and 99% for most applications.

GE has more than 30 years of experience in the production of caustic concentrators, flakers and prillers. Our chemical and process engineers have used their expertise in high temperatures, corrosive materials and high-alloy metals to design over 75 caustic soda plants worldwide.

Material of construction includes Nickel 201 and other high-alloy metals
Maximum efficiency and reliability via multiple effect falling film counter-current concentrators
Seamless tubes last three times longer than welded tubes
Chemistry compatibility to avoid corrosion and scaling
Demister Steam Cleaning avoids erosion related to impingement
Uniform liquid distribution from properly designed distributors/ferrules
Double effect falling film counter-current concentrator, with preheaters in order to reach the best efficiency.
Flexibility of the unit ranges from 30 percent to 100 percent of its nominal capacity
