Sodium chloride is used to produce chlorine and caustic soda by means of membrane electrolysis. The caustic soda produced from this process must be concentrated from 32% to 50% and 99% for most applications. GE has more than 30 years of experience in the production of caustic concentrators, flakers and prillers. Our chemical and process engineers have used their expertise in high temperatures, corrosive materials and high-alloy metals to design over 75 caustic soda plants worldwide.
