Michael Deane is Senior Policy Advisor, Infrastructure Finance, for EPA's Office of Water. In this position, Mr. Deane guides the Agency's efforts to develop innovative, market-based, and sustainable solutions for water infrastructure financing and management. Prior to his appointment, he was an executive in several water management companies, including United Water and its parent company Suez and the U.S. operations of Vivendi (now Veolia), focusing on innovative financing and infrastructure policy. He began his career in water previously at the EPA, working on the state revolving fund and public-private partnership programs. Mr. Deane holds a Master of Environmental Management degree from Duke University and a Bachelor's degree in biology and geography from Gustavus Adolphus College.
