Mobile Drinking Water Treatment For emergency response or interim water filtration needs, GE's containerized ZeeWeed membrane systems offer quick and reliable solutions. These ultrafiltration (UF) systems are easily transportable and consistently produce high quality permeate that exceeds government drinking water regulations, regardless of the drinking water source. At the heart of the system is the ZeeWeed UF membrane. With an absolute pore size of 0.1 microns, the membrane forms a physical barrier to viruses, bacteria, Cryptosporidium , Giardia and suspended solids. The ZeeWeed system’s ability to remove suspended solids, bacteria and parasites makes chlorine a more effective post-treatment disinfectant and reduces chemical consumption. GE has an established track record for providing mobile treatment systems for a wide range of municipal, industrial and military clients. Throughout the world these systems have been used to treat alternative sources of supply during drought or emergency conditions and to augment the capacity of existing water treatment systems on an interim basis while permanent ZeeWeed treatment facilities are designed and built. The transportable, pre-assembled and factory tested containerized ZeeWeed system is shipped in two compact, modular containers that minimize the total site footprint and reduce set up time and costs. Ancillary equipment including process pumps, valves, instruments and controls are housed in a single equipment building. The ZeeWeed membranes are housed in a separate epoxy coated steel tank. Separate feed tanks, effluent storage tanks and feed screening can also be supplied depending on site specific requirements. The entire automated system is controlled by a programmable logic controller to ensure that the plant operates at peak efficiency. Mobile Wastewater Treatment GE’s ZeeWeed membrane bioreactor (MBR) aerobic biological treatment process is an advanced treatment technology that combines conventional aerobic biological treatment with the absolute biosolids separation capability of membrane filtration, in place of clarification, using ZeeWeed immersed hollow fiber membranes. These ultrafiltration systems have been used to quickly and reliably replace or augment the capacity of existing wastewater treatment systems on an interim basis while permanent ZeeWeed membrane bioreactor (MBR) treatment facilities are designed and built.
